Will This New Fitness App Replace Classpass?

Will This New Fitness App Replace Classpass?

If you resolved to sweat more, be on time, and mind your budget this year, then you've probably noticed that the three may not exactly go hand-in-hand. (Baby steps, baby steps!) There's good news for wallet-minded fitness fiends, and it comes in the form of OpenSweat: a new app that's ready to replace your Classpass membership.

Rather than working off a members-only model, the LA-based startup allows people to browse nearby studios (like Pop Physique, Bar Method, and more) and book available classes in advance or at the last minute. The app's got a full menu of options, from yoga, barre, Pilates, indoor cycling, circuit training, boxing, CrossFit, and more, with most classes priced at $11 to $17 per sesh. There's no need to buy packages to save money, either: single classes are already discounted at 40 to 50 percent off. (Classpass' monthly fees range from $40 for three classes to $115 for 10 classes.)

Users can also schedule notifications when classes at their favorite studios become available for certain times and days of the week. Even better: you can take as many classes as you like per month.

Ready to break up with Classpass? OpenSweat is free to download and is currently available on iOS only; get it on the App Store here.
