We can’t stop aging, but there are ways we can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles that don’t involve a multi-step skincare routine, expensive treatments, or cosmetic procedures. Don’t get us wrong: while we love a good skincare routine packed with anti-aging serums and moisturizers, it’s not always necessary to buy a bunch of products or slather on every buzzed-about cream on the market.
On the same page? Here are three easy ways to help fight the signs of aging:
SPF, SPF, SPF. It cannot be stressed enough how important sunscreen is in our daily routines (yup, even in winter). It’s best to wear an SPF 30 or higher because the UV rays penetrate into our skin, damaging its elasticity and allowing wrinkles to develop. Additionally, its best to protect your skin from the sun with sunglasses and just covering up in general.
Stop smoking. Yes, it is a commonly known fact that smoking causes cancer. But here are a few skincare-related reasons to put down that cigarette? Wrinkles, and droopy skin due to decreased blood flow to the face are all caused by those cancer sticks.
Eat more nutrients. If you’re eating junk, then that means your skin is eating junk too. It’s best to stick to healthy foods with antioxidants like vitamin A and vitamin C. A good recipe to try is this carrot ginger soup filled with antioxidants that can prevent aging.
