These Easy Food Swaps Make It A Cinch to Cut Out Dairy and More

It’s not always easy to cut out our favorite foods. Luckily, there are lots of alternatives we can turn to when it comes to cleaning up your diet. In a recent video of Be Well By Kelly, holistic nutritionist Kelly Leveque share a her favorite swaps for dairy, sugar, alcohol, and bread.

Because dairy has been known to easily upset people’s stomachs or cause acne, it can sometimes be a necessary swap in your diet. An easy alternative is a nut milk, like almond milk or cashew milk, which is lower in calories and carbohydrates compared to cow milk. If lactose is the issue, any lactose-free yogurt or keifer will also ease digestion.

Next up is sugar: We all know it isn’t great for you. Sugar causes aging and dull skin, and of course, increases your waistline. One sweet swap is coconut sugar, which is loaded with vitamin E, has been used for thousands of years as a sweetener in Southeast Asia, and can be compared to a brown sugar in taste.

And of course, there’s processed carbs, which is found in bread. One alternative option are Raw Wraps, which is made out of veggies and fruit and clocks in at 70 calories. (Oh, and they’re loaded with vitamins and antioxidants, too).
