Sunscreen Booths Coming to A Beach Near You (Hopefully!)

Sunscreen Booths Coming to A Beach Near You (Hopefully!)

As a redhead, sunscreen is just about as vital to me as water. And for a while now, I've always wished for an easier way to apply it, especially when I'm at the beach or doing other outdoor activities. My hope was to create something like a spray tan booth, but with sunscreen instead. I was going to make a fortune from it! But alas, someone beat me to it. Either way, I'm just as excited for it.

Sunscreen Mist makes kiosks that basically mist you with sunscreen just like a spray tan booth. Yes, it's a sunscreen booth! All you have to do is pay, then walk in, spray, and walk out. It's so simple. The company also offers different kiosk styles as well as a variety of mist options including different SPF levels, tan accelerator, insect repellent, and even a cooling aloe mist.

Allure partnered with them for Governor's Ball and offered up a spritz of SPF 30 for just $2 a pop (the profits went to charity). I'm really hoping that these start to show up at all festivals and popular outdoor attractions, for my sake and for every one else's. That's because a study published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology says we're pretty terrible at applying sunscreen on ourselves. Only 34 percent of women regularly apply sunscreen to all of their exposed skin. And only slightly better, 40 percent of women reported they regularly apply it to just their face.

These kiosks are especially awesome because you don't have to bother your friends to apply sunscreen to your back. And how great would it be to have one nearby as you lounge around at the beach? In the meantime, watch this video below to see which sunscreens we love here at Mixed Makeup.
