We Tried an Animal Sheet Mask and it Was Hilarious

We Tried an Animal Sheet Mask and it Was Hilarious

One Sunday, my two friends and I wanted a fun activity to do before the stress of the upcoming week set in. What better way to de-stress than with some puppies? Since I don't have a dog of my own yet, we decided to do the next best thing: visit The Dog Café in Los Angeles for a much needed afternoon of playing with dogs. The Dog Café is kind of a genius idea. You pay $10 and you get to hang out with rescue dogs for 55 minutes along with a free drink. You can make an appointment online or, if you want to test your luck with availability, they also take walk-ins. To make this place even better, these dogs can also be adopted, so falling in love is highly encouraged.

As we waited in the café before our reservation, I browsed the t-shirts, socks, phone cases, and more. All dog-themed, of course. I came across a sheet mask with a pug on the packaging. You've probably seen people posting selfies with animal sheet masks before, and I've always wanted to try one. I just had to try it.

The Holika Holika Baby Pet Magic Mask Sheet - Anti-Wrinkle Pug ($6) is an anti-aging mask that improves your skin’s elasticity and boosts collagen. Basically, it minimizes and prevents wrinkles. The primary ingredient is niacinamide, which is responsible for regenerating and improving the elasticity of the skin. It also helps reduce age spots, improves tone and texture, and brightens the skin. The mask is also made with wheat extract that tightens pores and creates a barrier between your skin and the harmful effects of the environment.

The instructions say to cleanse and tone your skin before you apply the mask. Once the mask is on, you let it sit for 10-20 minutes. If you notice the pattern, or “wrinkles,” on pug’s face are gone, that’s a good thing! When the mask comes in contact with the heat from your skin, the wrinkles disappear and that’s how you know it’s working. Finally, to ensure your skin absorbs as much product as possible, lightly massage the excess into your skin after your remove the mask.

After using this mask, my skin immediately felt so soft and healthy. I was worried that my sensitive skin would get irritated, but I’m happy to report that my skin wasn’t irritated at all. Another perk? The price! Sheet masks, especially good ones, can get expensive! This one made my skin feel great without breaking the bank.

Plus, it was also fun to see my roommate’s reaction to the mask. As you can see, it looks more like a cross between an unidentifiable dog breed and monkey, rather than a pug, but nonetheless it was hilarious.
