Three Easy Ways to Upgrade Your Dry Skin Routine for Spring

Three Easy Ways to Upgrade Your Dry Skin Routine for Spring

Just when our skin was finally recovering from winter, her comes yet another season. (Nature is funny like that.) Dry and dull skin are just two common issues that strike year-round, but spring is an especially ideal time to reassess your routine. According to board certified dermatologist Dr. Jill Javahery of El Segundo Dermatology and Comprehensive Dermatology of Long Beach, sunspots, uneven skin tone, and dry and dull skin are some of the most common skincare concerns. Here, she shares three simple  ways to treat each — read on below for her tips!

Get a HydraFacial. This muti-step professional treatment "cleanses, exfoliates, and moisturizes all in one," leaving the skin with an immediate glow. The HydraFacial MD boosts skin with a blend of antioxidants, hyaluronic acid, and peptides while removing impurities. Bonus: the effective treatment only takes about 30 minutes and costs between $100 to $300, depending on add-ons.

Clean Up Your Diet. For dull skin, Dr. Jahavery recommends that her patients drink more water and cut out sugars and simple carbs from their diets. "So much of skin health is linked to what we eat," she says.

Don't forget SPF. For uneven skin tone and sunspots, she stresses that everyone needs to wear a mineral-based sunblock daily. "It will help prevent further damage, and can actually improve your skin's appearance over time," she says.
