9 Beauty Essentials for Your Next Vacation

I just love summer. There's this buzz of positivity in the air and everyone just seems happier. That's probably because everyone is either about to go on vacation or just recently returned from one. I myself just got back from a weeklong trip to Guatemala and Cuba and am still daydreaming about every moment. Since I spent a good amount of brain power deciding on what beauty products to bring with me, I thought I'd share them with you.

Since most of my trip involved outdoor activities like hiking and roaming through coffee and avocado farms, I knew I wasn't going to wear much makeup. That's why I did a little prep work and made sure to get my brows and lashes tinted before I left. This is a must for me because I have blonde, practically invisible brows and lashes. I'm so happy I did this because I was able to go makeup-free pretty much every day and wasn't afraid of taking pictures.

Now, let's get into the products.

One of the most important things to me when traveling (and, let's be honest, even when I'm not) is sunscreen. On this trip, I took three different types with me. The first is It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream ($38). I actually wear this product on a daily basis even when I'm not traveling – It gives me the perfect amount of coverage and it has SPF 50.

Next, I brought Kypris Beauty Pot of Shade Heliotropic ($68). I've been a huge fan of Kypris Beauty products, so I was so excited to learn that they recently came out with an SPF. This one has SPF 30 and contains a bunch of skincare ingredients like sea algae, sweet iris stem cells, tamanu oil, and probiotics to smooth, plump, and protect the skin. It also works as a great primer under makeup.

The last type of SPF I made sure to bring along with me was Brush On Block ($32). I'm always guilty of not reapplying my sunscreen every two hours like dermatologist recommend and it's because I don't want to ruin my makeup. This product brushes on right over your makeup without ruining it and it also takes away shine, so you basically kill two birds with one stone.

As for hair, I highly recommend bringing along a dry shampoo. I'm a huge fan of Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo ($14 for travel size) because it smells so good and really refreshes my hair. While this one is TSA-approved, if you want an option that's aerosol-free, Captain Blankenship Mermaid Dry Shampoo ($14) is also a great option.

I kept the rest of my beauty routine super simple. I always kept a tinted lip balm on me like It Cosmetic's Je Ne Sais Quoi Lip Treatment ($24) in the rose shade. I love the hint of color it gave my lips! For my lashes, I used Benefit Cosmetics They're Real! Lengthening Mascara ($24). It's my go-to whenever I know I'm going to be in a hot environment.

And then as a finishing touch, I groomed my brows with Soap & Glory Arch Brow Gel ($10). This brow gel is amazing! It makes your brows look thicker and really defines them. Even if I skipped mascara one day, I always popped this bad boy on.

Last, one of my absolute must-have products for travel (and for life) is the Lay-n-Go Cosmetic Bag ($34 for two). This bag is seriously genius because if fits pretty much everything you need and when you open it, it lays flat to make it easy to find everything. I've bought this as a gift for so many friends and they all love it too!
