What is a Carbon Laser Facial?

What is a Carbon Laser Facial?

As a producer for The SASS, I try out a lot of the treatments Susan Yara and Sharzad Kiadeh do on the show before we film. One of those treatments was the carbon laser facial at Thibiant Beverly Hills. It’s a laser that exfoliates the skin and makes it look super glowy afterwards!

Here are some pros and cons to consider if you’re interested in the treatment.

PROS:

  • It’s great for all skin types—even sensitive skin!

  • It can help reduce melasma (hyperpigmentation). BUT make sure you get your treatment done with someone who is experienced because they do need to make some adjustments.

  • It gives your skin an amazing glow! The carbon attaches to dirt, dead skin cells, toxins, and free radicals and then the laser removes all of it. I was obsessed with how amazing my skin looked afterwards.

  • It’s completely painless. The sensation of the laser going across your skin feels like the teeniest rubber band snaps. It actually tickles!

CONS:

  • The results don’t last very long. Typically, you can expect to have smooth skin for about a week or two before you need to go in again to maintain the results.

  • It can be expensive. At Thibiant, the treatment costs about $400. That said, there are plenty of other locations that offer is at a wide range of prices. For example, Skin Laundry offers the for $150.
