Music Festival Beauty Survival Guide

Music Festival Beauty Survival Guide

I had never been to a music festival before I went to Coachella this past year. Based on what people told me, I knew I could expert three things: great music, delicious food, and a lot of sweaty people. Since the heat was going to be a major factor, I knew I had to choose carefully when it came to the beauty products I took with me. They had to last in the hot weather and look good too. Here are all the products that made the cut!

Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield ($65)

This primer is perfect for a music festival. It has SPF 30 and it feels super light on your skin. It turned out to be a hit among my friends too--they borrowed it every morning!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion ($20)

I tend to have greasy eyelids, so I wear eyeshadow primer every day to prevent my eye makeup from fading and smudging. Since I knew the heat would only make this worse, I knew I needed a good primer. This one was perfect because it is evened out the color of my eyelids and kept them matte throughout the day and night.

bareMinerals Complexion Rescue ($30)

Because you can never have too much SPF at a music festival, I layered this product on top of the Invisiblur. It just your skin just a hint of coverage as well as sun protection and hydration. I honestly forgot I had this on because it's so light and the coverage lasted all day.

MAC Mineralize Concealer ($21)

It goes without saying that you don't get much sleep at a music festival. That means concealer is your best friend and for this situation you need one that's long lasting like this one. Plus, it simultaneously perfects and nourishes your skin.

Benefit Watt's Up! ($30)

To get a little glow in the desert, I went with this product from Benefit. It gives you the perfect amount of highlight and the cream-to-powder formula wasn't too heavy on my skin.

MAC Studio Fix ($27)

You have to set your makeup in this kind of situation. After I applied my makeup in the morning, I tossed this powder in my fanny pack in case I needed touch ups throughout the day. To be honest, I never actually had to reapply it because it lasts so long. But it was nice to have on hand just in case.

Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer ($29)

No amount of spray tan or self-tanner can take away the need for contour. This bronzer from Benefit matches my skin tone perfectly and it's the perfect, natural looking bronzer.

Anastasia Brow Wiz ($21) and Gel ($22)

I don’t think I need to explain the importance of a great eyebrow product. These products from Anastasia have passed pretty much every test I've put them through from swimming in the ocean to sweaty workouts. So of course, they had to come with me to Coachella.

Colour Pop Crème Gel Liner ($5)

This was my first time using this eyeliner and I loved it. It's super pigmented and it stayed on all day. The best part was that it didn’t fight me when I took my makeup off at night.

NUDESTIX Lip + Cheek Pencil ($24)

This lip and cheek pencil was a great multipurpose product to have with me for the weekend. The best part? It's small and fit perfectly in my fanny pack so I could reapply throughout the day.

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray ($14)

A weekend spent in the desert calls for setting spray. This stuff keeps your makeup locked in place all day. To be honest, I was pretty skeptical of setting sprays until this weekend, but now I'm a firm believer.

Avene Sunscreen ($23)

This sunscreen has SPF 50  and was the perfect size to throw in my bag. I'm proud to report I made it through the whole weekend without a sunburn.

Hada Labo Ultimate Anti-Aging Facial Mask ($15)

Once I was back in the safety of my hotel room, I used this face mask to give my poor dry skin a little pick-me-up. All it took was 10 minutes and I felt like a new person.
