This Yummy Pizza Alternative Is Perfect for Gluten-Free Paleo Diets
If you thought eating Paleo was all about bland meals of meat and veggies, think again. Also known as the "caveman diet," the nutrients-rich diet is made up of what scientists think Neanderthals ate on the reg: legumes, fruit, fish, and meat. The dairy- and grain-free meal plan has been touted by health enthusiasts and gluten-intolerant eaters, but as we modern-day foodies now know, Paleo eaters can make cookies and eat them, too. Case-in-point: today, our resident Paleo Chef Mary Shenouda shares her very yummy recipe for gluten-free pizza. This good-for-you meatza (clever, right?) features Italian sausage as a crust and topped with marinara sauce, cashew cheese (stay tuned for the recipe video soon!), fresh vegetables, and herbs, making it the perfect alternative to high-carb Italian pie. Plus, it'll take less than 30 minutes to make!
