Last Sunday's Emmy Awards wasn't just a presentation of Hollywood's brightest stars — it also highlighted their A-list beauty games, too. On top of getting the exact rundown of Maisie Williams' bright eyes, we also scored intel on cool comedienne (and Outstanding Lead Actress nominee) Ellie Kemper's red carpet look from her makeup artist, Liza Coggins — and if there's one thing we learned, it's that literally mixing your makeup is one way to step things up.

"The inspiration for Ellie's look was all classic Hollywood," the Ireland-bred, LA-based pro tells us. "Ellie's alabaster skin and gorgeous red locks inspire visions reminiscent of iconic beauties such as Rita Hayworth, Julianne Moore, Amy Adams. She can easily go from girl next door to vixen but because of her gowns simple silhouette and strong brocade we decided to stay timeless which we deemed more elegant overall."

Read on below to find out how to get the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt star's look and the beauty recipe that Coggins used in her client's red carpet-ready look.

1. PREP + SET + GLOW: Coggins explains how she used a mixture of Clé de Peau Active Radiance Oil and Radiant Creme Foundation with Estée Lauder Double Wear Maximum Coverage Face & Body for an all-in-one primer and foundation. Next, she used MAC Cosmetics' Prep + Prime Natural Radiance and 24-Hour Extend Eye Base to prime Kemper's face, then finished things off with the line's Transparent Powder.

Then, she added definition using MAKEUPFOREVER's Pro Sculpting Palette. Finally, she gave the star's skin a camera-ready glow using BECCA Shimmering Skin in Moonstone and Hourglass Cosmetics Ethereal Glow.

2. EYES: Coggins "gave her a single row of strip lashes, then I slightly smoked her upper and lower lash line." To do this, she used MAC's Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Groundwork for the base, then highlighted Kemper's lids with MAC's Genuine Treasure Paint Pot. Then, she used MAC's Pro Longwear Fluidline in Blacktrack and Dip Down to tightline, soften, and blend. Lastly, Coggins used BI.TA.BA Volume Mascara and Eye Lure lashes.

 3. LIPS: "I used a deep berry lip to complement the antique gold/chartreuse color of her gown," explains Coggins. She used MAC's Lip Pencil in NightingaleMAKEUPFOREVER Aqua Rouge Lipstick in #14 and #19, and Cle de Peau Radiant Liquid Rouge in #14 to to create the autumn-ready hue.
