This Is the Sneaky Reason Your Hair is Damaged (And How to Repair It)
When it comes to damaged hair, we usually have ourselves to blame – whether it's from heat damage when styling, coloring, or waiting too long between hair cuts. But there's something else that causes damage to your hair that you might not think about: the environment. Sun exposure, pollution, dust, and hard water are all really tough on your hair and can leave it dry, dull, and weak. And all of this environmental pollution is only magnified if you live in an urban areas like New York City and Los Angeles. The good news is Shu Uemura just released a line of products meant to protect your hair from this damage and make it gorgeous again.
I was recently introduced to the Shu Uemura Urban Moisture Collection at an event thrown by the brand. Being in the beauty industry and an Angeleno, I definitely put my hair through a lot. That said, I'm not about to stop the blowouts and heat styling any time soon so I figured these products could help minimize one of the ways my hair gets damaged.
- Moringa: captures pollutants and purifies
- Red Micro-Algae: has healing properties and antioxidants
- Cationic and Amphoteric Polymers: nourishes and moisturizes
At the event, we received a wash and blowout using the products so we could see how they felt in our hair. My hairstylist especially recommended the Urban Moisture Hydro-Nourishing Deep Treatment for my super dry hair. It's meant to give your hair a boost of hydration and make it super soft.
After all was said and done, I was impressed with these products. My hair felt really soft and looked a lot shinier. It's also nice to know my hair will improve as I continue to use the products because they'll protect my hair from future damage.
