There's a beauty benefit to remembering those elementary school art class lessons. Color correcting with makeup is an easy way to perfect your complexion, so it's a good idea to start memorizing that color wheel again. In this week's episode of The Cut with Susan Yara, we're sharing our top tips for hiding common skin concerns like acne, sun spots, broken blood vessels, and more.  For instance, green is great for covering up redness, like rosacea and pimples. Orange and peach are ideal for hiding dark under-eye circles, while yellow can help hide bruises.

Need proof? Check out the handy color wheel below for reference. (We'll give you a second to save it to your phone or computer!)

However, before you apply color correcting concealers, it's important that you get your foundation right first (like choosing the right product for your skin type, using the right application technique, and more). It's just like painting: your canvas has to be prepped correctly before you can have fun with colors.
