Saie Slip Cover Review: Best Tinted Moisturizer with Mineral SPF?

Saie Slip Cover Review: Best Tinted Moisturizer with Mineral SPF?

Tinted moisturizers with sunscreen are probably one of my favorite beauty products to talk about. I’ve written before about my journey to find the best tinted moisturizer out there last summer, but the thing is, this journey will never end because there’s always a new tinted moisturizer to try. And today, my journey brings me to Saie Slip Cover ($32) — a tinted moisturizer with SPF 35.

I’ll be honest, I hadn’t felt a strong pull to try anything from this new beauty brand until I saw this product come out in September 2020. (Again, I’m a sucker for tinted moisturizer with sunscreen.) The sun protection in this is 100 percent mineral with Zinc Oxide, so you get both UVA and UVB coverage. It’s formulated with licorice root extract for brightening and hyaluronic acid for hydration as well as moisturizing ingredients like grape seed oil and argan oil. There are also antioxidants like vitamin E and some fermented ingredients.

As for the feel, it’s so smooth and glides on like buttah. It feels very moisturizing, and I believe it could be used in place of your regular moisturizer, although I have yet to try that. It leaves your skin looking healthy and plump — it’s dewy, but not greasy-looking. It gives you very light coverage, meaning it will tone down some redness, but it won’t cover any freckles, dark spots, or breakouts. But honestly, that’s how I prefer my tinted moisturizers. I want just a hint of all-over coverage and then I go in with my concealer where I need it to finish the job.

The texture and coverage of Saie Slip Cover really reminds me of beautyCounter Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer ($45), except I will say the latter can sometimes feel a bit sticky and errs on the too glowy side if you don’t powder down. Dew Skin has SPF 20 and only six shades compared to Slip Cover’s SPF 35 and nine shades. Since dermatologists recommend you wear at least SPF 30, you can’t wear Dew Skin as your only sun protection, whereas you could with Slip Cover’s SPF 35. Dew skin is also $13 more, so the clear winner for me is Slip Cover.

All that to say, I’m very pleased to add Saie Slip Cover into my morning skincare and makeup routine. Watch this video to learn more about it!
