An Anti-Aging Skincare Routine for Brighter Skin

An Anti-Aging Skincare Routine for Brighter Skin

If you know me, then you know I’m always changing up my skincare routine—but not just because I love products. Many of the skin concerns we have are a sign it’s time to switch up the routine (not to mention it’s my job to try new products).

I’m always asked about what my current skincare routine is, so I broke this one down in my Instagram stories on my personal account (@susanyara). See below to get all of the details!

BIOSSANCE SQUALANE + GLYCOLIC RENEWAL FACIAL ($68)

I always include an exfoliant in my skincare routine. This Squalane + Glycolic Renewal Facial Mask from Biossance contains a blend of glycolic acid with multiple alpha-hydroxy acids, and fine mineral spheres to gently slough off dead skin cells. It's also unique because it contains squalane and hyaluronic acid that keeps the skin hydrated, which makes this a gentle exfoliation treatment. I do it in the morning and I notice that my makeup goes on smoothly afterward.

SkinCeuticals Discoloration Defense ($98)

I like to apply 3-5 drops of this Discoloration Defense serum from SkinCeuticals to my face in the morning. It helps to fade dark spots and discoloration from acne scars, melasma, and other types of hyper pigmentation. It's super light and layers on nicely. The serum contains 5% niacinamide, which is responsible for DNA repair in the skin for a more smooth and bright complexion.

Dermalogica BioLumin-C Serum ($87)

Everyone needs to include a Vitamin C serum in their skincare routine. It helps fight free radicals and sun damage, while boosting collagen production in the skin to fight fine lines and wrinkles. I love the Biolumin-C serum from Dermalogica specifically because it's hydrating and delivers an instant glow factor to the skin.

SkinCeuticals Hyaluronic Acid Intensifier ($98)

The H.A Intensifier from SkinCeuticals is a corrective serum to hydrate the skin and support hyaluronic acid levels. I layer it on after the Vitamin C serum and blend into my forehead, cheeks, chin, and neck. It's great for aging skin because hyaluronic acid helps the skin look firm and plump.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Hydra-Gel Eye Masks ($76)

These Pro-Collagen Hydra-Gel eye masks from Elemis are a blessing when I'm tired in the morning. The masks are formulated with hyaluronic acid and jojoba oil to give an extra boost of hydration to the under eye area to fight dark circles and puffiness in an instant. I like to apply them and leave them on for 20 minutes. They stay comfortably whether I'm catching up on emails or I'm getting my son, Nikash dressed in the morning.

Caudalie Moisturizing Sorbet Cream ($39)

It's not just pretty packaging. The Caudalie Moisturizing Sorbet Cream has been my go-to moisturizer for awhile now. It's oil-free and super lightweight so it's great for all skin types. Instead of sorbet like the name suggests, this moisturizer is formulated with organic grape water, calming chamomile, and antioxidant-rich grape seed polyphenols to replenish moisture and soothe skin. The grape seed also fights wrinkle-causing free radicals like pollution, stress, and sun damage.

Verso Dark Spot Fix ($150)

For dark spots, I use the Discoloration Defense serum from SkinCeuticals in the AM, and Dark Spot Fix from Verso Skincare in the PM. The serums essentially treat the same skin concerns, but this one also contains Retinol 8, a concentrated form of Vitamin A that is 8 times more effective than a traditional retinol to promote new cell growth by boosting collagen and elasticity production. It doesn't irritate my skin but it's definitely more heavy-duty. I'd rather let it do it's work while I'm getting my beauty sleep

Verso Super Facial Serum ($130)

I use Verso's Super Facial Serum when I need an extra boost of hydration. It also contains Retinol 8 to promote collagen and elasticity in the skin. When I apply it all over my face and neck, I can immediately feel the nourishing effects.

I'm always changing up my skincare routine, depending on the season or my current skin concern. Here's another group of products I love to switch up and use:
